Last night we attended the book event for design team Jeanine Hays and Bryan Mason, founders of AphroChic, at the lush home décor retailer, Room and Board in Atlanta. The designing duo discussed their book, REMIX: Decorating with Culture, Objects and Soul, a comprehensive guide to “bringing a sense of cultural identity in the home while still honoring a modern design aesthetic” (-Danielle Colding, Design Star winner and host of HGTV’s Shop This Room).
Guests were treated to a bevvy of delicious hors d’oeuvres, courtesy of Dogwood Catering, and an up-close look at how Hays and Mason utilized Room & Board’s functional products to demonstrate innovative ways to decorate various household rooms (e.g., the bedroom, dining room, etc.) according to the AphroChic aesthetic.
Check out photos from the event and a video from AphroChic on curating your space.
Many thanks to Catherine Koonce of Brave Public Relations for inviting us to the event.
